These ECUs use the Infineon Tricore TC1782 MCU with 2.5 MB of internal flash memory.
FID 152 (CAN): Supports Full OBD mode via the diagnostic connector or on the bench.
FID 150 (BSL): Boot Strap Loader mode for deep recovery or full backups. This requires opening the ECU and allows FullFlash reading and calibration writing.
These higher-capacity ECUs use the Infineon Tricore TC1791 MCU with 4 MB of internal flash memory.
FID 252 (CAN): Supports Full OBD mode (bench or diagnostic port). Allows FullFlash reading and writing of calibration and software areas.
FID 151 (BSL): Requires opening the ECU.
No Unlock Required: For CAN families (152/252), there is no need to open the ECU to perform an unlock; the software handles this through the OBD protocol.
Correction: Automatic Checksum and CVN (Calibration Verification Number) correction is performed during the writing process to ensure the ECU remains original in the eyes of dealership scanners.
Hardware Requirements:
Adapter: A special BITS001 power adapter is required for stable operation.
Interface: While it works with Tactrix Openport 2.0 or Bosch VCM2, Scanmatik SM2/SM2 Pro is highly recommended for the most stable performance.
Reflash Warning: The CAN-based FIDs (152/252) may not function correctly if the ECU has been previously modified or reflashed using third-party tools (non-BitBox). In such cases, BSL mode may be necessary to restore communication.
