The BitEdit Motorola NGC4A software module is a professional calibration editor for Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep vehicles equipped with the Motorola NGC4A engine control unit (ECU). This system is built on the Motorola MPC5554 microcontroller and features 2MB of internal FLASH memory.
The editor is designed for both beginners and experienced tuners and includes several advanced interface capabilities:
Data Visualization: Calibration data can be viewed in tabular, two-dimensional (2D), and three-dimensional (3D) formats.
Editing Support: Users can modify parameters using delta (+/-), percentage adjustments, or direct value settings.
Workflow Tools: Features "smart" copy-and-paste (including multiple selections) and a customizable interface with a docking system.
Parallel Management: The module automatically manages parallel maps, transferring changes between them as they are defined.
The module provides a comprehensive range of maps for engine optimization:
Airflow & Efficiency: Volumetric efficiency (VE) calculation with multipliers/corrections, desired airflow at startup, and airflow limiters.
Injection & Fueling: Injection compensations, injection PWM offset, PWM scalar, and closed-loop control settings with associated delays.
Ignition (Spark Advance): Spark advance for part load and WOT (Wide Open Throttle), optimal spark advance, adjustments for coolant and intake air temperature, spark advance during VVT launch, and knock retardation control.
VVT & Performance: Pedal power (torque) request, throttle valve control, and intake/exhaust camshaft angles.
Safety & Limits: Engine speed (RPM) limitation for Drive and P/N, and vehicle speed limitation (when found).
Diagnostics: Includes a dedicated DTC mask editor for managing error codes.
Hardware: A BitSoftware Senselock USB dongle is strictly required to operate the software.
Internet: The software uses a client-server architecture and requires a permanent internet connection.
Policy: The developer does not allow URGENT requests for map updates or descriptions for this module.
Reading/Writing: Calibration editing is done in BitEdit, but reading and writing the ECU is typically performed via the BitBox FCA Petrol Gen1 CAN module (FID: 15) through the diagnostic connector or on the bench.
The module supports an extensive list of software IDs (SW), including:
