The BitBox FCA Bosch Diesel CAN module is a professional software solution for reading and writing Bosch engine control units (ECUs) in diesel Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Fiat vehicles via the CAN-bus. The module supports several EDC17-series ECUs and includes a specialized bench-reading tool.

Key Technical Features

• Reading/Writing Methods: For most families, the module performs virtual reading from the server and writing of the calibration area via OBD2.

• Real Bench Reading (FID 124): This component is used to perform a "real" read of the ECU on the bench. This is specifically required if the virtual reading file for a particular vehicle software ID cannot be found on the server.

• Checksum Correction: Automatic checksum calculation and correction are performed during the writing process.

• Safety Features: The module focuses on the calibration area to ensure safer writing operations via OBD2.

Requirements

• Security Hardware: A BitSoftware Senselock USB dongle is strictly required to run the module.

• J2534 Interface: A compatible J2534 Pass-thru adapter (such as Scanmatik 2 or OpenPort 2.0) is necessary for communication with the vehicle.

• Internet Connection: An active internet connection is required for software identification and virtual reading processes.
