The BitBox FCA Petrol Gen1 CAN module is a software solution for reading and writing petrol engine control units (ECUs) in Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Fiat vehicles via the CAN-bus. It is designed for Gen1 vehicles and supports both OBD2 and bench-mode operations without requiring the ECU to be opened.

Core Capabilities

The module supports the following operations for compatible ECUs:

• Software Identification: Retrieves the ECU's current software version.

• FullFlash Reading: Allows for a complete read of the internal flash memory.

• Calibration Writing: Specifically targets the writing of the calibration area.

• Checksum Correction: Automatically calculates and corrects checksums during the writing process.

Supported ECU Families & FIDs

Important Limitations & Compatibility

• GPEC2 Restriction: This module (FID 14) is only for GPEC2 ECUs in vehicles produced until 2014.

• RSA LOCK: Vehicles manufactured after 2014 utilize ECUs with RSA LOCK protection. These newer units must be unlocked before writing and require the FCA Petrol Gen2 CAN module.

• Hardware Requirement: A BitSoftware Senselock USB Dongle is mandatory to authorize the software.

• Excluded Units: Some sources indicate that "Huntsville" versions of certain ECUs may not be supported by this specific module.
