The BitEdit Continental GPEC (SIM90) software module is a professional tool for editing calibrations in Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep vehicles. This ECU system is based on the Motorola MPC561 microcontroller and features 2MB of external FLASH memory.
The module allows for the modification of a wide range of engine parameters:
Airflow & Efficiency: Volumetric efficiency maps, airmass flow limiters, and airmass flow through the throttle body.
Power Management: Maximal engine power settings, including associated power correction maps and accelerator pedal power requests.
Idle & Speed Control: Idle speed RPM management for different operating modes, along with engine speed (Rev) and vehicle speed limiters (where available).
Fuel & Injection: Fuel flow (supply), target lambda, power enrichment, and warm-up lambda corrections. It also includes maps for injection timing control, injector dead time, and injector performance/pressure adjustments.
Ignition & Knock: Ignition timing (advance) angles for various modes, knock retardation (rebounds), and knock sensor sensitivity.
Diagnostics: A dedicated DTC mask editor for managing error codes.
Hardware Required: A BitSoftware USB security dongle (Senselock) is mandatory to run the module.
Connectivity: The software utilizes a client-server architecture and requires an active internet connection for operation.
Reading & Writing: While BitEdit is used for calibration editing, reading and writing the ECU is typically performed using the BitBox FCA Petrol Gen1 CAN module (FID: 16) via the OBD2 diagnostic connector or on the bench.
Policy Note: The developer does not accept URGENT requests for adding new descriptions or maps to this specific module.
