Technical Overview

• Hardware Platform: The GPEC3 ECU is based on the Infineon MPC5674F (Power Architecture) microcontroller, which features 4MB of internal flash memory.

• Editing Capability: BitEdit serves strictly as a calibration editor; it allows you to modify flash files but does not perform ECU reading, writing, or checksum correction.

• Requirements: A BitSoftware USB security dongle is required to run the module.

Calibration Map Categories

The module provides a wide array of maps for comprehensive engine tuning:

• Airflow & Calculation: Includes maps for nominal charge calculation and volumetric efficiency at part load.

• Correction Factors: Adjustments for airflow through the throttle body and volumetric efficiency multipliers based on coolant and intake air temperatures.

• Injection Management: Features maps for injected fuel quantity, base lambda values, power enrichment (regular and high octane), injection PWM offsets, and mass-to-PWM conversions.

• Ignition (Spark Advance): Access to optimal and base ignition angles, minimum ignition angle, knock detection factors, and temperature-based ignition corrections or limits.

• Idle Speed: Multiple desired idle speed maps for Drive, P/N, high octane modes, and AC-on/off states, along with minimal rotation limits.

• Limiters: Control over vehicle speed and engine speed (RPM) limits, including limits based on engine coolant or oil temperature and Neutral gear status.

• Torque & Throttle: Maximum torque settings, torque request by accelerator pedal, torque limits by gear/speed, and throttle valve opening angle ranges.

• Diagnostics: Includes a DTC mask for managing diagnostic trouble codes.

Compatibility & Reading/Writing

While BitEdit handles the editing, reading and writing of these "Locked" ECUs often require a flasher like BitBox using FCA Petrol Gen2 CAN (FID: 18 or FID: 320 for BSL mode) to handle the internal tuning protection.
