The BitEdit Motorola NGC4 software module is a professional calibration editor for Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep vehicles equipped with the Motorola NGC4 engine control unit (ECU). This ECU architecture is built on the Motorola MPC5554 microcontroller and includes 2MB of internal FLASH memory.
The module provides access to a comprehensive set of maps for detailed engine tuning:
Airflow Management: Includes volumetric efficiency (VE) calculations with multipliers and corrections, desired airflow at startup, and airflow limiters.
Fuel & Injection: Adjustable injection compensations, injection PWM offset, PWM scalar, and closed-loop control with delay settings.
Ignition (Spark Advance): Features spark advance at part load and Wide Open Throttle (WOT), optimal spark advance, and adjustments based on coolant and intake air temperatures.
Performance & Limits: Tuning for pedal power request, throttle valve control, engine speed (RPM) limitation (in Drive and P/N), and vehicle speed limitation when found.
Variable Valve Timing (VVT): Access to VVT intake and exhaust camshaft angles and spark advance during VVT launch.
Safety & Diagnostics: Includes knock retardation control and a built-in DTC mask for managing diagnostic trouble codes.
Hardware Requirement: A BitSoftware USB security dongle (Senselock) is mandatory to use this software.
Urgency Policy: The developer does not allow URGENT requests for adding new descriptions or map updates for this module.
Flasher Integration: While BitEdit is used for editing, a compatible flasher tool like BitBox (FID: 13) is required to read and write these ECUs via the OBD2 CAN-bus.
This module supports a vast range of software IDs, including but not limited to:
