The BitEdit Continental GPEC2 software module is a professional calibration editor designed for Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Fiat vehicles. It specifically targets Continental GPEC2 ECUs powered by the Motorola MPC5566 microcontroller, which features a 3MB internal flash memory.

Key Calibration Maps Available

The module allows for the modification of various engine parameters, including:

• Airflow Management: Volumetric efficiency (with multipliers and corrections), desired airflow at startup, and airflow limiters.

• Fuel & Injection: Injection compensations, injection PWM offset, PWM scalar, and closed-loop control with associated delays.

• Spark Advance: Base spark advance at part load and WOT (Wide Open Throttle), optimal spark advance, and adjustments based on coolant/intake air temperatures.

• Engine Limits & Control: Idle speed across different modes, engine speed limitations (in Drive and P/N), and vehicle speed limitations.

• Variable Valve Timing (VVT): Spark advance during VVT launch and intake/exhaust camshaft angles.

• Safety & Diagnostics: Knock retardation control, throttle valve control, and a dedicated DTC mask for disabling diagnostic trouble codes.

Technical Requirements & Constraints

• Urgency Policy: No "URGENT" calibration requests are allowed for this specific module.

• Hardware Required: A BitSoftware USB protection dongle is mandatory to run the software.

• Editing Only: BitEdit is strictly a calibration editor; it does not perform ECU reading, writing, or checksum corrections. These tasks require a compatible flasher tool like BitBox.

• ECU Protection: Many GPEC2 ECUs from 2013 onwards have internal tuning protection (LOCK). These must be unlocked in BSL mode using a bench tool before modified files can be written via OBD.
