Supported ECU Types

The module supports several specific hardware families based on the Motorola MPC5xx architecture with 2MB of external flash memory.

Technical Capabilities

All operations within this module are performed via the CANbus protocol.

• Identification (ID): Allows for software version retrieval.

• Reading/Writing: Supports full communication with the external flash.

• Checksum Correction: Automatically ensures data integrity during the writing process.

Hardware Requirements

• FEPS Activation: Both the ME9.8 and ME(D)G9.8.1 families require a J2534 adapter that specifically supports FEPS (Flash EEPROM Programming Signal) activation to enable the writing process.

• Activation: This is a software-only activation from BitSoftware; a physical BitBox USB dongle is required to use the license.
