The BitBox FCA Bosch Diesel CAN module is a software solution for reading and writing Bosch engine control units (ECUs) in diesel-powered Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Fiat vehicles via the CAN-bus. It supports identification, reading of full flash, and writing of calibration areas through the diagnostic (OBD2) connector or on the bench.

Supported ECU Families & FIDs

Note on EDC17CP27 (FID 108): Some technical sources list the MCU for this specific ECU as the TC1796, though it maintains the same 2.0 MB flash capacity.

Key Features

• Virtual Reading: This allows the software to identify the ECU and automatically download the correct file from the BitBox server.

• Real Bench Reading (FID 124): This is specifically used when a virtual reading file cannot be found on the server for a particular vehicle. It allows for physical reading of the calibration area on the bench via CAN-bus.

• Checksum Correction: The module automatically performs checksum correction during the writing process to ensure file integrity.

Technical Requirements

• Hardware: Requires a BitSoftware Senselock USB Dongle to authorize the software license.

• Interface: A J2534 Pass-thru device (such as Tactrix OpenPort 2.0 or Scanmatik 2) is required for vehicle connection.

• Internet: A stable internet connection is mandatory, as the program uses a client-server architecture for file access and module activation.
