Protocol and Hardware Support

The module is divided into two primary Functional Identifiers (FID):

• FID: 24: Supports Toyota Denso NEC 76F00XX Engine Control Modules (ECM).

• FID: 26 (Test): Supports Toyota Denso NEC Transmission Control Modules (TCM).

It is compatible with ECUs based on the following NEC Microcontroller Units (MCUs):

• NEC 76F0038, 76F0039, 76F0040, 76F0070, and 76F0085.

Core Capabilities

The module provides a comprehensive suite of tools for ECU management:

• Software Identification: Accurately identifies the current ECU software version.

• Virtual Reading: Accesses the latest software updates directly from the server for the identified ID.

• Writing: Enables both updating to newer versions and downgrading software as needed.

• Corrections: Automatically performs Checksum and Calibration Verification Number (CVN) corrections during the writing process.

Advanced Recovery Feature

One of the most significant features of this module is its ability to recover ECUs from any state without physical intervention.

• No Specialist Hardware Needed: Recovery can be performed using a standard J2534 device via CAN bus using bootstrap mode; NBD or JTAG devices are not required.

• Non-Invasive: Allows for the recovery of ECUs that were bricked by other tools or during failed Techstream updates without opening the case.

• Specific Compatibility: This is particularly useful for ECUs without physical NBD/JTAG pins on the PCB, such as those found in the Camry V50 and Highlander 3.5 (U50), or the LC200 4.5TD.
