The MPVI4 is the newest generation of HP Tuners' flagship OBDII interface, designed to deliver professional-grade custom calibration, high-speed diagnostics, and advanced data acquisition. Built on a dual-core 1.7GHz processor with 1GB of RAM, it offers over 30 times more memory than previous versions, enabling significantly faster read, write, and logging speeds.
Original Software Support: Fully compatible with the VCM Suite 5.2+ (includes VCM Editor and VCM Scanner).
Online Working: Internet access is required to Resync the interface, download official vehicle calibrations, and purchase or activate Universal Credits for licensing specific controllers.
Offline Working: Once a vehicle is licensed, you can perform offline diagnostics, read/clear DTCs, and write modified tune files back to the vehicle without an active internet connection. It also features high-speed standalone data logging, allowing you to record vehicle data directly to the device without a laptop.
The MPVI4 interfaces with hundreds of supported controllers across thousands of makes and models (Audi/VW, GM, Ford, Chrysler, etc.). Using the VCM Scanner, you can monitor and check the following modules and parameters:
Engine Control Modules (ECM/PCM):
Diagnostics: View and clear Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and check engine lights.
Real-Time Data: Monitor critical engine parameters like air-fuel ratio (AFR), spark timing, RPM, fuel trims (short and long term), and manifold absolute pressure (MAP).
Active Controls: Command real-time functions such as fuel loop status (open/closed), engine cooling fans, and timing adjustments.
Transmission Control Modules (TCM):
Performance Checks: Monitor shift points, line pressures, and gear selection in real time.
Special Functions: Access the Gear/Tire Wizard to calibrate the speedometer after changing tire sizes or gear ratios.
Fuel Injection Control Modules (FICM) & Specialty Modules:
Supports diagnostics and calibration for specialized controllers, including diesel FICMs and Chassis Control Modules (CCM) on select applications.
External Sensors (via PROLINK+):
Record up to two analog signals (e.g., from a wideband O2 sensor or boost gauge) and one CAN bus signal simultaneously for more comprehensive engine health analysis.
Processor: Dual-Core @ 1.7GHz.
Memory: 1GB RAM for high-resolution logging.
Connectivity: USB-C, Bluetooth v5.2, and future Wi-Fi support (via firmware update).
Design: New tapered OBDII connector for a stronger, more secure fitment.
Indicators: Three multi-color RGB status LEDs for easier troubleshooting.
